«Modern snail breeding techniques»

February 2020

Snail breeding is a relatively new activity in Greece, but Greek snails are already distinguished in international markets for their competitive characteristics. Producers are asked to resolve a number of issues in order to ensure the smooth operation of their breeding units. Continuous training of producers on breeding and its requirements leads to the solution of these issues in the best possible way.

The seminar will be held at the facilities of the DIAE in Volos and the internship will take place at the snail breeding station of the DIAE and at a breeding unit in the Prefecture of Magnesia.

Completion of the 10-day training program leads to the receipt of a Certificate of Attendance which corresponds to 3 ECTS credits and can be matched with ECVET credits in the context of transferring, recognizing and accumulating the learning outcomes of a student/person in order to gain professional qualifications.

Another training program (Level B ') of longer duration is planned, which will be carried out remotely so that the attendance of both programs will lead to a Certificate of Professional specialty "Snail farmer".
