Dr. P. Panagiotaki is currently Professor of Aquaculture, Director of the Aquaculture Laboratory and MSc Course “Mediterranean Aquaculture” at the Department of Ichthyology & Aquatic Environment (DIAE), School of Agricultural Sciences, University of Thessaly, Greece. She holds a BSc (1985) and an MSc degree (1988) in Animal Science, School of Agriculture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She received her PhD in Fish Farming and Aquaculture from Liverpool University (United Kingdom), Port Erin Marine Laboratory, Isle of Man, School of Environmental and Evolutionary Biology in 1992.

Scientific Interests:
Dr. P. Panagiotaki is involved in aquaculture research projects as field expert and as team leader for more than 25 years. Current research interests focus on the study of growth patterns of commercially important aquaculture species including flatfish, with emphasis on size variation, growth compensation, fish welfare, effects of the physical environment on fish growth, behavior and physiology of early life and juvenile stages of Mediterranean farmed species, in association to fish farm management. She is refereeing papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and serves as Editorial Board member.
