Dr. Nikos Neofitou is dealing with aquaculture environment interactions, and he currently works on the contribution of sea cucumbers on organic load reduction from finfish aquaculture, as candidate species in IMTA systems of Mediterranean Sea. He also investigates the possibility of monitoring nutrients in aquaculture environments using satellite data. From 2000 until today he participated in the implementation of 14 Research Programs as a scientific cooperator and 5 as a scientific coordinator. He has participated in the supervision and co-supervision of more than 100 undergraduate and postgraduate theses and in the supervision and examination of 7 PhD theses. He has more than 90 publications in international journals and conferences. His published scientific papers have received more than 300 citations. He has been a reviewer of scientific articles in 21 international scientific journals and an editor in 3 international scientific journals with an impact factor. The h-index is 8 (Scopus) and the total impact factor (I.F.) of his published work is 40.224 (JSR 2021).
