The newly established “Laboratory of Hydraulics & Inland Water Management” of the Department of Ichthyology and Aquatic Environment (DIAE) in University of Thessaly (UTh) was founded in 2019 (Government Gazette Series B, No 2548 of 27.06.2019) with the foreign language title “Laboratory of Ecohydraulics & Inland Water Management” and distinctive title: “ECO–HYDRO Lab”. It comes to fill an important gap in the research and educational subjects of the DIAE, related with the Inland Water Management and also the new cutting-edge objects such as the Ecohydraulics and Ecohydrology
It consists of professors, PhD students and candidates, scholarship holders with major research and teaching subjects covering the wide range of the Hydraulics and Inland Water Management. The Laboratory has developed strong links with Laboratories abroad, through international partnerships, which are based on both scholarships (ΙΚΥ, EOX, Fulbright), as well as in exchange of staff (Professors and Students) under the auspices of the Program Erasmus. It has a dynamic growth trajectory and it is in the process of equipping itself with funding efforts from Research Programs, which are in progress, so that to be more complete the education of undergraduate and postgraduate students, but also the conduct of research and the provision of services.
